Ochoa Wins LPGA Canadian Women’s Open

Lorena Ochoa, women’s world no.1, cruised to a three-stroke win over Paula Creamer in the LPGA’s CN Canadian Women’s Open held at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta. The impressive win was Ochoa’s 5th LPGA win this year and second in a row after just recently claiming victory at the British Open. Ochoa was 16 under par for the tournament.

Edmonton hosted an excellent Canadian Open, with a tournament record 64,850 fans attending through the week. Many of the players, including Creamer and Ochoa, considered the Open felt like a major tournament even without the official designation. The Royal Mayfair Golf Club proved to be up to the challenge of the world’s best women golfers and we can only hope the tournament will return to Edmonton in the not so distant future.
