DESIGN Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club was founded in 1971 by Oliver Bardes, a wealthy Ohio industrialist who was an avid golfer. The present Bardmoor course was one of three courses designed for Bardes by William Diddle. In June 1998, Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club opened a brand new clubhouse. Encompassing 11,000 square feet, it houses Bardmoor's tennis operations as well as the well-stocked golf shop, bar and grill, locker rooms, and banquet facilities that seat 150. Scenic multi-level terraces overlooking the tennis courts and Junior Olympic pool complete the first-class renovation. In 2001, Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club reinvented itself with a $2 million design renovation led by Gary Koch, a six-time PGA tour winner, golf analyst and renowned golf course architect. The project included green renovations, a new irrigation system, new white sand covering all bunkers, graded lake banks and leveled tees. Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club features lakes on all 18 holes. The addition of Tifeagle grass to the newly reconstructed greens has firmly established Bardmoor's reputation for having some of the best greens in Florida.
