Kemper Sports Management is operating this premier upscale 18-hole public facility. Shoal Creek G.C. was built in 2001, sculpted over rolling terrain, natural prairie grasses and heavily wooded areas. Shoal Creek`s superintendent, Duane Sander, was awarded the GCSAA Heartland Section Superintendent of the Year in 2002. Shoal Creek has hosted the US Amateur Qualifier in 2002 and the PGA`s Midwest Section Championship in 2003 & 2004. It is a 4-Star rated golf course and voted by the public the Top Rated Public Course in Kansas City metro area by KCMetroGolf.com. Shoal Creek features large undulating, bent grass Penn G-2 greens and tree-lined Zoysia fairways. The golf carts feature GPS navigated yardages for the golfer`s convenience. The par-71 yardages range from 6,983 to 5,571 yards with a strong rating of 73.9 and slope of 136. The practice center features 12,000 square yards of zoysia grass teeing area and a 7,500 square foot putting green. PGA professionals are on duty to provide lessons and club fitting. Shoal Creek provides membership options, corporate packaged rate rounds and specials throughout each day. Construction is nearly complete for the new 11,000 square foot, $3+ million clubhouse, which opened in October 2003.
